|Platform||Opportunity Brief||Type||Est. User Base||Est. Growth||Maturity||Saturation (X/10)||Capital Reqs||Support Reqs(X/10)|
|Envato||Create or acquire high-volume themes as UA strategy; makes sense if you serve certain SMB markets and can target them by theme use-case (eg. Realtor Listings Theme, etc)||Website Themes Marketplace||2M Customers||+1-3% /mo||15+ Years||7/10||$2K+||Medium|
|Bubble Marketplace||Create / acquire plugins & templates that serve the Bubble no-code developer audience (generally startup SaaS companies). Use the app as a UA channel.||App Creation Studio||600K Customers||+2-5% /mo||9+ Years||4/10||$3K+||Medium|
|DojoMojo||Network of companies interested in collaborative contests, sweepstakes, etc. Generally these are CPG / DTC brands reaching B2C audiences. Great way to quickly grow your email list in those markets.||Audience Collaboration Platform||N/A||N/A||5+ Years||3/10||$1K+||High|
|Vendasta (Vendor Program)||Leverage Vendasta's huge network of agency customers & B2B media brands for a) a direct pipeline into existing client channels, and b) exposure to thousands of agencies / B2B brands who might become direct customers.|
Ideal if you sell enterprise SaaS or consulting. Offer something scalable to resellers, and use Vendasta as a discovery platform.
|Whitelabel Services Platform||60K Resellers||N/A||12+ Years||2/10||$5K+||High|
|Key Subreddits||Partner with large subreddits in your target niche to build a "sister subreddit" that you manage. Massive UA strategy, but keep the promotion tasteful / minimal to maintain sentiment.||Social Network||N/A||N/A||15+ Years||N/A||$1K+||High|
|Alexa Skills||Use Voiceflow to create smart-speaker skills (apps) that are essentially voice-driven experiences for your target audience. |
Eg. "Alexa play The Lazy Marketer monthly recap". Skills are discoverable and can be a great way to reach 100M+ smart speaker users. There are approx 100K skills available.
|Smart Speaker Apps||100M+ Customers||+1-3% /mo||7+ Years||7/10||$2K+||Low|
|Udemy||Create low-price, high signal niche courses as a UA strategy. Let Udemy send you customers for the brand awareness alone for your "real" funnel (on YourSite.com)||Online Courses||35M Users||+1-3% /mo||13+ Years||7/10||$1K+||Medium|
|Coursera||Create low-price, high signal niche courses as a UA strategy. Let Coursera send you customers for the brand awareness alone for your "real" funnel (on YourSite.com)||Online Courses||77M Users||+1-3% /mo||8+ Years||7/10||$1K+||Medium|
|Mojo Marketplace||Create or acquire high-volume themes as UA strategy; makes sense if you serve certain SMB markets and can target them by theme use-case (eg. Realtor Listings Theme, etc)||Website Themes Marketplace||5.8M Users||+2-5% /mo||11+ Years||6/10||$2K+||Medium|

|IndieMaker||Acquire failed / small projects on IndieMaker predominantly for their email lists / customer database.||Business Marketplace||N/A||N/A||3+ Years||N/A||$1K - $25K+||N/A|
|ProductExplorer||Similar to IndieMaker, ProdX is a 50k+ database of stale / failed projects that have launched on ProductHunt, AppSumo and others. Could be some bargain acquisition targets re: email lists / customer base.||Premium Database||N/A||N/A||2+ Years||N/A||$1K - $25K+||N/A|
|Postie||Programmatic direct mail - this is a hugely overlooked channel. Postie uses internet-level targeting to send physical mail. Given the CPC today, sending someone a real letter is often cheaper. And generally far more effective (if targeted).||Direct Mail Platform||N/A||N/A||2+ Years||N/A||$3K+||N/A|
|Topic Bots||Creating bots that post or reply based on social listening or API triggers can be a passive way of driving consistent exposure on channels like Twitter, Reddit, Stocktwits, etc.|
This has to be done carefully so as to be useful info and not annoying, but if you strike that balance, very powerful. Plenty of devs on Fiverr & Upwork who can custom create something.
|Slack Marketplace||Slack's vendor marketplace is still relatively undiscovered - and it has massive reach across a huge SMB & B2B audience (12M daily active users). Easy to create / no-code app builder makes this especially compelling.||Workflow & Comms||100M+ Users||+0-1% /mo||11+ Years||4/10||$5K+||High|
|Zoom Marketplace||Zoom's app marketplace has ~ 1800 apps, which seems high at a glance - until you consider that they have 500K paying business users and 300 MILLION daily meeting participants. (Also for context, Shopify has 6K+ apps and just 1M SMB customers). This represents incredible reach.||Video Comms||300M+ Users||+0-1% /mo||10+ Years||4/10||$10K+||High|
|Monday Marketplace||Monday.com's app marketplace is undiscovered & unsaturated. Similar opportunity /audience as building for Slack.||Workflow & Comms||125K Customers||+1-3% /mo||9+ Years||2/10||$10K+||High|
|Discord||Discord is sort of like Slack, but easier to use & has a nearly frictionless signup & channel subscription process. |
User invites can also be gamified, so that your members can unlock certain perks & VIP areas after they invite X new members. Very powerful for audience growth.
|Audience Platform||N/A||N/A||5+ Years||N/A||$1K+||N/A|
|Wix Marketplace||Compared to Shopify's 6K+ apps to serve ~ 1M merchants, Wix has about 300 apps to serve 4.5M paying customers & 200M freemium users. Massive opportunity.||Website Builder||200M Users||+0-1% /mo||15+ Years||1/10||$10K+||High|
|Weebly Marketplace||Similar to Wix, there are currently just 360 Weebly apps to serve ~30M users.||Website Builder||30M Users||+0-1% /mo||15+ Years||2/10||$10K+||High|
|Stripe Integrations||Stripe's vendor marketplace features ~ 700 apps serving about 2M business users. Roughly 90% less saturated than Shopify's app marketplace.||Payments & Billing||2M Customers||+1-3% /mo||11+ Years||4/10||$10K+||High|
|Trello Power-ups||Similar to Slack's marketplace, Trello's power ups are 3rd party integrations to enhance the Trello workspace. There are about 1,000 powerups to serve 50M freemium users.||Workflow & Comms||50M Users||+0-1% /mo||7+ Years||3/10||$5K+||High|
There are a number of marketing & business growth strategies discussed on this site and inside the products showcased, along with a few examples of results from the author’s past experiences and endeavours. Growing a business, and generating results with marketing isn’t easy – it’s hard!
If it was easy… well, courses like this wouldn’t need to exist. The author has managed to produce impressive results with these strategies, but that’s also the cumulative result of years of determination, luck, perseverance and skill – and not just the specific strategies alone.
Your results will mostly depend on your own business acumen, experience and your business model. And you may not experience any results. Furthermore, the strategies described in this content may involve certain marketing & legal expenses to execute properly. The author strongly recommends that you consult with professionals who can advise you on how best to invest in the growth of your business, and how best to arrange client engagements, if you decide to act on some or all of the author’s suggestions.
I mean, seriously, just use common sense – and before taking action on anything, use this content as one of several sources that may inform any related decisions. To all the lawyers and people who love reading fine print, I hope reading this has been immensely satisfying.
For all intents and purposes, you should consider this content to be ‘for entertainment purposes only’.
